Dumas Wesley Community Center - Evening Child Care Aide (Part Time)

Dumas Wesley’s Transitional Housing Program, the Sybil Smith Family Village (SSFV) is seeking caring, compassionate, and energetic childcare workers to care for children up to 10 years of age while their parents are attending life skills classes on campus. Classes are generally held every Tuesday and Thursday from 6-7pm, but may vary.  Responsibilities include making sure the children are safe and their present needs are met. Childcare workers are also responsible for interacting with the children in a positive manner such as engaging them in games and activities. Dumas Wesley Community Center - Evening Resident Advisor (Part Time)

The Evening Resident Advisor of Sybil Smith Family Village ensures that the Village is safe, clean and secure during the hours of 5:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, and 8:00 a.m. – 11:00 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. Primary job functions include the following:

•             At the beginning of the shift, meet with staff on prior shift to receive updates about the day’s events.  At the end of shift, update relief staff with any new information;

•             Supervise children while their mothers attend on-site life skills classes or meetings;

•             Reinforce policies with Residents and make notes regarding any eventful happenings;

•             Make scheduled rounds of Village premises.
